Getting to Hoboken

 

It's easy to get to Hoboken from New York and New Jersey by bus, train, or ferry. Please consult the following resources to find timetables, fares, and service updates from your area.

 

BY BUS: 

Academy Bus runs service along Boulevard East from Anderson & Fairview to the Hoboken Terminal at the southeast corner of town, Monday through Friday. When you click on this link, look for information on "Boulevard East."

NJ Transit also runs several lines that connect Hoboken to New York as well as neighboring towns in NJ.

 

BY TRAIN:

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, serving Bayonne, Jersey City, and Hoboken:

 

PATH underground train: 

The "subway" connecting Hoboken from Newark, Jersey City, and Manhattan.

NJ Transit runs several train lines that span New Jersey, all of which converge on Hoboken at the Erie Lackawanna Terminal at the Southeast corner of Hoboken.

BY FERRY:                                              

Take the NY Waterways ferry to and from midtown or downtown Manhattan.

 

BY CAR:

From Manhattan:

Lincoln Tunnel- Once through the tunnel exit immediately to the right or left for Hoboken (both exits marked).  Go through one set of lights (firehouse).  At second set make a left, go one block (Dykes Lumber will be in front of you) make a right onto Park Ave., go over the bridge.  At the next light make a left onto 14th Street, continue traveling east three blocks to Washington Street.

 

Holland Tunnel- Once through the tunnel make the first right hand tunnel at the light.  At the end of this road make a left and you will be on Observer Highway, heading east (towards the PATH station).

 

From North Jersey:

Take NJ turnpike to exit 17 (marked Lincoln Tunnel) or exits 16W or 16E and head East.  Follow signs to Lincoln Tunnel on 495.  Hoboken is marked "last exit in NJ".  Once off 495, go through light, down the hill and bear to the right.  Follow signs to Hoboken.  Go through two sets of lights.  At the second set Dykes Lumber will be on your left.  Go over the bridge and at next light make a left onto 14th Street, continue traveling east three blocks to Washington Street.

 

From South Jersey:

From the Garden State Parkway, at exit 11 pick up the Jersey Turnpike and then take the Tpke. extension to exit 14 ( marked 14A, 14B, 14C and Holland Tunnel).  Follow the extension all the way to the end and at first light make a left (the light is at the bottom of the hill with the Holland Tunnel directly in front of you).  Go through two sets of lights and under the trestle bridge follow road ninety degrees to right.  You are now on Observer Highway heading East towards the PATH station.

 

From West Jersey:

Take Route 3 East to 495 East.  Follow signs to Lincoln Tunnel on 495.  Hoboken is marked "last exit in NJ".  Once off 495, go through light, down the hill and bear right.  Follow signs to Hoboken.  Go through two sets of lights.  at second set of lights Dykes Lumber will be on your left.  Go over bridge and at next set of lights make a left turn onto 14th Street.  Continue traveling east three blocks to Washington Street.
